There is an alternative new shopping malls and places in addition to KLCC which is also close to downtown Kuala Lumpur, called The Pavilion. Present in early 2008, The Pavilion is located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, namely Jalan Bukit Bintang, which is Orchard Roadnya Kuala Lumpur.
For me, The Pavilion is a more attractive alternative than KLCC. KLCC for me was too general, sometimes crowded with tourists on week-end day, while The Pavilion ambience and atmosphere fresher, and more importantly a crowd of people a little more upper class than KLCC.
Places of interest to me was the name of The Food Republic. As the name implies, the Food Republic food court is very broad and provides a wide variety of foods both local and international branded branded. There is also a donut shop owned by Salon from Indonesia taikun namely JCO Donuts. Apparently JCO Donuts is very popular also in Kuala Lumpur, looks very long queue every day.
Some other interesting outlets at The Pavilion are:Times Bookshop: bookstore with beautiful and warm atmosphere, many also provide books kids.
Tangs: Stores of Singapore that provides a wide range of clothing.
Harvey Norman: Stores all in one electronics and computers from Australia.
GSC Cinema: Movies with audio and video quality is high end, similar to 21 in Jakarta, which also provides a variety of theater classes.
Parkson: Outlet is very broad and provides a wide range of clothing accessories women, men and children with upper class tastes.
To go to the Pavilion is very easy, if you stay at the Bukit Bintang area you can stay on foot only. Or if you are close to rail Mono Rail, you just ride and stop at Bukit Bintang station. From there you just walk to the Pavilion.
